thanks. I'm surprised there is a drop shadow. maybe because it is part of the same .GLB. For me, i do not see any drop shadow between 3D objects, nor 3D layers from simple shapes… Drop shadows are back with "3D classic" and "Cinema 4D", but .GLB gone. AE 24.5.0.
I totally imagine that 3D implementation will continue to evolve over the next few updates. I am curious to see where it goes!

Believe it or not no plugin required! New updates to 2024 after effects let you drop 3d into your comps.
You can import depth mask from Davinci on video and apply it on a footage ;)
I wouldn’t see why not. Depth map renders or z-depth render passes are used all the time in video and motion to simulate depth of field.
Why did you use the trax editor instead of time line editor?
The Time Editor is pretty much a replacement for the Trax editor that came with Maya 2017. I am old school. But either can work.

Hi Matt , thank you for the video - was useful !Would like to ask you one thing tho , how we go from A or T pose to animation ( need for nCloth simulation ) .
Off the top of my head I would set two initial character sets or keyframes of the rig. One in T-pose then keyframe a later frame to the A-pose. This way you can snap between the two. Maybe even make both a clip.
It's not reloading the textures for me.
Is it possible to export into a AE project or make a dynamic link from premiere rush to AE? Since editing in AE is very slow, and i dont wanna pay premiere pro for editing task.
How do i move my mixamo rig around in maya without keyframing everytyhing over ? it gets imported to world 0 and i cant move it. it just bounces back
Hi there. This can be done in a few ways. You could create either a locater or curve at the base of the character (like you see on open-source rigs) and parent it to the Mixamo rig. This leaves the key on the rig and gives you control over the position of the rig. The locator can then be keyed and animated for your position. First, you select the rig in the outliner, and then you select the locator (or curve) and hit p. Another way could be animation layers.
